Topic: Metrics: What Are the Cyber Security Studies Telling Us?

In today’s world of interconnected information the threat of data breaches has reached a level of concern that has never been seen before. To help present the information and provide awareness about the threats a variety of organizations have taken on the task of gathering and analyzing the information available to them.  The presentation on cyber security studies will pull all the findings together to help us understand the magnitude of the problem.  Wlosinski will review metric types, the content and findings of various IT security studies and surveys to include Cisco, F-Secure, Ponemon, Microsoft, Symantec, Trustwave, Verizon, and Websense to mention a few.  The topics discussed include: industry trends, exploits, vulnerabilities, threats, malware, cost of cybercrime, data breaches, big analytics, critical infrastructure, and more.  Attendees will learn about the types of studies and who does them, the information sources, and the findings.  The course is intended for IT security managers, their support staff, security professionals, and anyone interested in learning about how you and the world are affected by malicious Internet activity.
