Topic: The Evolving Malware Threat

Today’s Internet contains so many malicious code that they are too numerous to count.  Malware is a threat not only to government organizations that protect you and maintain the country’s infrastructure and financial institutions, but also to you and your identity, financial situation, and personal privacy. The presentation will review recent malware-related activities used by criminals and criminal organizations to obtain sensitive data and funds from you and your organization.  Attendees will learn about malware activity world-wide and local, trends of the last couple of years, what is being done around the world, and malware countermeasures.  The presentation is intended for IT security management, security support staff, project managers, and IT security professionals.

Larry is a Senior Associate at the Veris Group, LLC.  He has over 40 years of experience, with the last 15 dedicated to information security. His commercial experience includes insurance, interstate and international banking, and collections.  Federal government experience includes EPA, NIH, CMS, DOJ, DOE, DIA, NOAA, and SSA.  He was a Section Manager at Computer Science Corporation (CSC), an Information Security Manager for Lockheed Martin, and an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH).  He has also been a speaker on a variety of topics at federal and professional conferences, and has given classes on many IT security topics.
