TOPIC:  Securing Wired and Wireless Networks with 802.1X

Abstract:

Federal agencies and commercial organizations see the security benefit of only allowing authorized  devices to connect to their wired and wireless networks.  Department of Defense (DOD) requires 802.1X authentication to meet the DISA STIG requirements.  Both Federal and Commercial organizations have the need for secure guest access and BYOD offerings.  To meet this demand, vendors have created scalable solutions using 802.1X as the foundation.  This presentation provides an overview of 802.1X and delves into real world examples showing 802.1X deployment best practices as well as additional options to scalably incorporate guest and device access.
